285 South: A newsletter for Metro Atlanta's diverse communities.

June 6, 2023

I launched the 285 South newsletter in 2021 with the mission of creating a space dedicated to Metro Atlanta’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities.

The region has seen immense demographic changes in the past 20 years alone - especially in the growth of its Asian and Latino communities. The shifts here have been analyzed in political terms - but what do they mean on a human to human level?

285 South delivers readers a mix of stories, from community spotlights to monthly event calendars to news roundups of stories impacting Metro Atlanta’s foreign born community members and their children.

You can subscribe to 285 South by going here, and follow it on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

285 South is supported through a partnership with Canopy Atlanta, a local media nonprofit dedicated to community-led journalism.
